Who we are

At Dixie Sod | Sod of the South, we’re proud to be a small, family-owned business rooted in our community. Founded in 1996 by owner and operator Dixie Warren, the company was built on a simple belief: work hard, treat people right, and deliver a product you stand behind. Nearly 30 years later, those values still guide everything we do.

We source our sod from trusted farms across Middle and South Georgia and South Alabama, ensuring consistent quality and freshness from farm to yard. By keeping our supply close to home, we’re able to deliver healthier, greener sod that’s well-suited for Southern landscapes.

Community is at the heart of our business. From supporting local schools, churches, and recreational facilities to serving as the Title Sponsor of Clear Water Academy, we’re proud to give back to the communities that have supported us for decades.

Our Values

Commitment to Community
We value lasting partnerships built on trust, and we’re proud to reinvest in the communities that have stood beside us year after year.

Family & Faith
As a family-owned business, we believe strong families and faith-centered values are the foundation of a healthy community. These principles guide how we treat our customers, our partners, and one another—with integrity, respect, and gratitude.

Quality from the Ground Up
By sourcing locally and working closely with regional farms, we ensure every pallet of sod meets our standards for freshness, consistency, and results that will last.
